A little more about our fried calamari, frozen at sea
The squids in our breaded friend calamari are caught in the southwest Atlantic Ocean and frozen directly aboard the boat. This rapid freezing process helps preserve the proteins and omega-3 fatty acids, which are particularly beneficial to the heart.
And yes, frozen fish is often superior to so-called "fresh" fish—the latter is often caught two weeks or more(!) before arriving at the table, therefore losing quality. Freezing on the boat retains as many nutrients as possible.
Finally, fried calamari without the need for a fryer!
The best fried frozen calamari doesn't need a frier to retain its crispy deliciousness. Our fried calamari can be prepared in the oven in 12-14 minutes or the pan in 6-7 minutes. Of course, if you do have a frier, you can have them ready in 3-4 minutes.
