In collaboration with Martin Goyette, also known as Guide de survie pour mono, this recipe reimagines traditional poutine using Cool&Simple's duck fat fries. Easy to prepare and bursting with local flavours, it's destined to become your new Friday night favourite!
Ingredients
- 1 bag of Cool&Simple duck fat fries
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- Butter or duck fat (for cooking)
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup corn kernels (canned or frozen)
- Poutine gravy
- Cheese curds
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven or air fryer to 350°F (180°C).
- In a pan, sauté the sliced onion in butter or duck fat until golden brown.
- Add a drizzle of maple syrup and continue to cook for 1–2 minutes to lightly caramelize the onions.
- Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until fully browned. Mix in the corn and set aside.
- Prepare the poutine gravy according to the package instructions and keep warm.
- Cook the duck fat fries in the oven or air fryer for about 25 minutes, or until crispy and golden.
- To assemble: place the fries on a serving plate, top with the beef-onion-corn mixture, sprinkle with cheese curds, and pour hot gravy over the top.
- Serve hot and enjoy this decadent Quebec-style comfort food!
