If you're wondering how to cook sweet potatoes, this quick and easy mashed potato recipe is for you! You can prepare our version with maple and ginger, but you could also replace the suggested components with chopped chives, or simply enjoy the puree as it is, without adding any seasonings.

Yield : 3-4 servings

Ingredients of our sweet potato mash :

  • Thiriet cubed sweet potatoes (600 g bag)
  • 15 mL (1 tbsp) of Maple Syrup
  • 5 mL (1 tsp) of fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 pinch (1/8 tsp) of cayenne pepper
  • 15 mL ( 1 tbsp) of butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Add the sweet potato to a medium saucepan, fill with water and bring to a boil on high heat.
  2. When the water is boiling, lower the heat to low and let simmer until the potatoes are tender.
  3. Drain the potatoes and puree with a potato masher.
  4. Add maple syrup, ginger, cayenne pepper, butter and mix well.
  5. Add salt and pepper to taste, serve and enjoy.
  6. Bon appétit!
