Ingredients
- 1 round of Cool&Simple all-butter shortcrust pastry
- 1 star-shaped cookie cutter (or any shape of your choice)
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- ½ cup (125mL) strawberry or raspberry jam
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Thaw the shortcrust pastry in advance according to the package instructions.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the pastry while keeping it on its parchment paper.
- Using the cookie cutter, cut shapes from the pastry.
- Gather the leftover dough into a ball, roll it out again, and cut more shapes.
- On half of the cut-out shapes, use a small knife to cut a tiny circle or any shape of your choice in the center.
- Place the cookies on a baking sheet.
- Lightly beat the egg and brush it over the cookies.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool at room temperature.
- Spread a teaspoon of jam onto the center of each solid cookie and top with a cut-out cookie.
- Dust with powdered sugar and enjoy!
