These cute cookies are perfect for family cooking! Offer them as hostess gift or keep them in a cookie jar for an afternoon snack. They willl be delicious with a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate after an outdoor activity or while playing board games!

  1. Thaw the shortcrust pastry in advance according to the package instructions.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  3. Roll out the pastry while keeping it on its parchment paper.
  4. Using the cookie cutter, cut shapes from the pastry.
  5. Gather the leftover dough into a ball, roll it out again, and cut more shapes.
  6. On half of the cut-out shapes, use a small knife to cut a tiny circle or any shape of your choice in the center.
  7. Place the cookies on a baking sheet.
  8. Lightly beat the egg and brush it over the cookies.
  9. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool at room temperature.
  11. Spread a teaspoon of jam onto the center of each solid cookie and top with a cut-out cookie.
  12. Dust with powdered sugar and enjoy!
