Tarte Tatin: story of an iconic dessert
The Tarte Tatin, born at the end of the 19th century in the hotel restaurant of the Tatin sisters in Lamotte-Beuvron, is the result of an accidental yet incredibly delicious discovery. Distracted by an urgent request, Stéphanie, the pastry-making sister, forgot to add the pastry to her caramelized apple tart once it was in the oven. In a panic, she improvised by placing the dough on top of the caramelized apples, then had the idea to flip everything into a dish, giving birth to this iconic dessert. An error that now brings us immense joy!
How to store our Tatin tartlets once baked
After baking, store the tartlets in the refrigerator in an airtight container. Reheat them in the oven at 180°C / 350°F for 12 minutes to regain all their flavour.
How to eat our Tatin tartlets
Pair our tartlets with vanilla ice cream, or savour them with a dollop of whipped cream, caramel sauce, or a sprinkle of cinnamon. Warm them in the microwave for even more indulgence for just a few seconds before serving!
